Maria Laura Méndez-Martén is a designer from Costa Rica. She was born in 1982 and moved to Paris 10 years ago. After completing her studies at ENSCI-Les Ateliers in Paris, Maria Laura received her certificate in advanced studies from EPFL+ECAL Lab in Switzerland where she completed the «DOTS» project which won a prize at DMY, Berlin in June 2010. Maria Laura is an independent designer for projects related to new information and communication technology. Within the organisation of Paris Design Labs, she has collaborated with clients such as Orange or Dassault Aviation. More recently, at the NoDesign agency, she has been working on special projects related to the design of interfaces, information services and architectures. She is currently developing the project nAutreville in augmented reality with financing from the French government which is granted by OSEO for the financial support of Paris Design Labs. This project, which was awarded a prize by the city of Luxembourg in 2009, will be presented at the Biennale Internationale de Design 2010 in Saint Étienne, France.
